Mission
Statement: My goal has always been to create original images for
each project which enhance the audience's visual enjoyment while
blending seamlessly into the narrative.
William M. Miller is an award winning cinematographer
from New York City. A graduate of Tisch School of the Arts at New York
University, William has photographed over three dozen short films,
including The Last Call, which was nominated for the Student Academy
Award, Surveillances, winner of the Best American Short Film at the
Avignon Film Festival in 2002, and The Watering Hole, winner of the Best
Short Film at the 2006 Tribeca Film Festival.
William’s feature film credits include Followers, Say I Love You But
Whisper, The Breadbasket, The Fast Life, and the crime drama Home
Invaders, directed by Gregory Wilson and executive produced by Spike
Lee.
William was also the director of photography on the
supernatural thriller, Headspace, shot in New York City. Headspace stars
actors Udo Kier, Sean Young, Dee Wallace Stone, and Olivia Hussey. Prior
to its theatrical premiere New York and Los Angeles, Headspace took
double honors for Best Cinematography and Best Screenplay at the 2005
New York City Horror Film Festival. It was released nationwide on DVD in
September 2006, and has a television premiere on the Showtime Channel
just in time for Halloween. The Hollywood Reporter wrote that, “…the
film also looks uncommonly terrific, thanks to cinematographer William
M. Miller's expert lensing.”
William’s feature, Lbs., was an official selection at the 2004 Sundance
Film Festival. In the past year, William has photographed the feature
films The Girl Next Door, based on the controversial bestselling novel
by Jack Ketchum, Amexicano, a political drama about immigration, and
Home Movie, a psychological thriller starring Adrian Pasdar (star of
NBC’s hit show Heroes).
He recently completed principal photography on the comedy, Made For Each
Other, starring Bijou Phillips (star of Bully and Havoc), Chris
Masterson (Malcolm In the Middle), Danny Masterson (That 70’s Show),
Lauren German (Hostel 2), Samm Levine (Freaks and Geeks), and George
Segal (of the hit tv show, Just Shoot Me!). |
